Joe L. Torres, CPA is the founding partner of the Odessa, TX and Midland, TX locations. Joe joined Haynie & Company September 2020 when his former firm Joe L. Torres, PC merged with Haynie & Company. He holds numerous credentials including CPA, CVA, CEPA, Securities License Series 6 and 63 and a Life/A&H Insurance License.
Joe received his BBA in Accounting from Texas A&I University. He is a member of the AICPA, TSCPA, Permian Basin Chapter of CPA’s, National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, Exit Planning Institute and The ESOP Association.
As an entrepreneur, he built his own CPA firm and is an expert in Closely Held Small Businesses Estate and Tax Planning, Retirement Planning, Investment Planning, Life Insurance Planning, Employee Stock Ownership Plans, Accounting, Auditing and Tax for Oil and Gas Services and Production, Construction Contractors, Real Estate, Restaurants, Retail, and Local Governments.
Outside the office, Joe has served on various charity boards including: Chairman United Way of Odessa, Chairman of MANO (Odessa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce), Chairman of China Aid Association, and Treasurer-TAMACC (Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce).
Papa Joe loves spending time with his seven beautiful and witty Grandchildren. He enjoys golfing and boating with family, friends, and clients at Possum Kingdom Lake. He and his wife Terri are avid travelers. They have been to most of the 50 states and on many international excursions including Sweden, Scotland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Spain, Greece, The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, France, Monaco, Turkey, Czech Republic, Croatia, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Mexico and Panama.
