Haynie DEI Journey

Haynie DEI Journey

Haynie & Company is proud to continue to focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts. We are excited to share more about our DEI journey. With over 400 employees, we understand the importance of focusing on an inclusive culture. We recognize the playing field is uneven and will work hard to provide everyone the tools they need to be successful.

Celina Ochoa, DEI Committee co-leader and Haynie & Company Financial Advisor, recalls the inspirational quote she recently heard at a Women’s Conference, “You can’t get anywhere unless you are willing to lose sight of the shore.”

Ochoa says, “With DEI we will have to lose sight of the shore, free form, and take risks. We’re not always going to get it right. It’s not going to be a perfect linear path. But what matters is we are trying. We are working towards this big goal – to offer support and community to everyone in the firm. It is hard work but, we are here to build something that’s worthwhile and will stand on its own.”

Haynie Week & DEI

The week of May 23, 2022, the Haynie team came together for a week of training and team building. The DEI Leaders shared their renewed vision, mission, and opportunities for the team to engage. Dave Peterson, Managing Partner, showed his support by recounting his personal struggles of being bullied as a child. He emphasized the importance of everyone finding community and bringing their whole selves to work. Our DEI efforts will go beyond the Haynie & Company team. Over time, our entire community will be affected.

2022 DEI Mission Statement

We are committed to prioritizing our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts and creating a culture of belonging. DEI is at the core of what we aspire to be, and Haynie’s core values support it.

Trust: Trust is a key ingredient for fostering an environment that encourages our people to be authentic.

Communication: Effective communication fuels innovation and connection. We actively learn from every conversation.

Growth: We understand that compassion and empathy for others start with us. We foster professional and personal growth so our people can play an active role in our DEI efforts and create a more inclusive environment.

Service: We acknowledge and appreciate that everyone has unique experiences, perspectives, and viewpoints. Our diversity provides innovative solutions for the clients and communities we serve.

Family: Above all else, we are a family. We believe every individual should feel seen, heard, and valued. We advocate for those that are less represented.
