Scott J. Reams, audit partner, joined Haynie and Company in 2003, and has been a key player in the continued success and growth of the firm's audit practice. Scott currently oversees Salt Lake City’s consumer products and industry audit areas.
Scott is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a Bachelors degree in accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant. He began his career with Arthur Andersen in the audit and assurance practice in San Francisco, California and has expertise in the construction industry, manufacturing, oil and gas, non-profit accounting, restaurant franchising, mergers, acquisitions and SEC reporting. Scott provides consulting services related to internal controls (Sarbanes Oxley compliance), SEC financial statement preparation, fraud investigation, and litigation support services (expert witness reports and testimony). In response to client needs, Scott has developed an expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) assisting companies with implementations and financial statement conversions.
His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA) and an associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
Scott is married to Amy and enjoys many outdoor sports, including camping, fishing, biking, running, snowboarding and golf. He and his wife Amy are also avid travelers and have visited many areas of the world including Asia, Europe, Latin America and the South Pacific.
