Michael J. (Mike) Teuscher is the director of Tax Operations at Haynie & Company with extensive experience in all areas of taxation specifically in: tax compliance, tax planning, corporate and partnership restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, natural resources, real estate, construction, and estate planning. Michael also has developed expertise in problem resolution with the IRS. Prior to merging with Haynie & Company in 1998, Michael had built a successful full-service accounting practice and was a former tax manager with a "Big 4" accounting firm.
Michael is active in the professional community and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA). He served several terms as a committee member with the UACPA Federal Taxation Committee and served one term as chair. He writes articles and lectures on various subjects involving taxation, and previously lectured at the Utah Update Conference, National Business Institute, and the Utah Valley Estate Planning Council.
Currently, Michael is a Venture Scouting Advisor for the Boy Scouts of America, and received the Silver Beaver Award from that organization. Michael is a board member of Teton Whitewater, a river running company owned by the Boy Scouts of America.
Michael enjoys tying flies and fly fishing with his four children, travels to warm places to scuba dive with his wife Susan, and loves to whip up a delicious new recipe in the kitchen or master new cooking techniques.
